On Tuesday, the Houston Texans officially pardoned defensive back Damian Daniels.
Daniels, an untrained rookie from Nebraska, had a total of 33 tackles,
Two tackles and two pass deflections for a loss in his final season with the Cornhuskers.
Not only was Daniels captain of the team in Nebraska in 2021, he earned respectable-mentioned All-Big Ten honors.
In the Texans' presidential opener, Daniels played 20 defensive snaps against the New Orleans Saints.
He also got two photos on special teams.
Houston's roster has a multitude of defensive tackle, such as Malik Collins, Roy Lopez, Ross Blacklock,
Michael Dumfour, Thomas Booker and Kurt Hinish.
It was always difficult for Daniels to break through to the 53-man roster of the Texans because of the depth of his position.
Daniels could potentially move on to another team's roster or practice squad before Week 1.
