Roger Federer announced earlier this month that he would retire after this year's Laver Cup.

With that said, unfortunately it's time for the fans to bid farewell to the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Federer is currently competing with Rafael Nadal for Team Europe in a doubles match.

He will face Team World's Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

A few hours before his final match, Federer posted a heartfelt message on Twitter.

"I've done this a thousand times,

But it feels different," Federer wrote.

"Thanks to everyone who came tonight."

Not surprisingly, tennis fans are getting emotional about this post and Federer's final match.

No matter what happens this Friday at O2 Arena,

Federer will go down as one of the most influential athletes of all time.

He has inspired some of the young stars that we are seeing dominating tennis today.

Federer has just enough left to go on top as the winner.

Fans can watch Federer's final match on Tennis Channel.

The match is also available on the Tennis Channel app and on fuboTV.
