The Los Angeles Rams didn't play much of a role in the team's season opener Thursday night, leaving Cam Akers behind, receiving just 12 snaps on offense.
After losing to the Buffalo Bills, head coach Sean McVay said that it was difficult to get his race back on track.
"We didn't really get into much of a rhythm tonight, so it was hard to get anything done," McVay said via Ramswire.
"I want to involve Allen more, and involve a lot of people.
But overall, it was a tough night for us and it was a bad night in terms of overall decision making for my point of view,
And that's something I'm looking forward to fixing."
While there is nothing wrong with those comments,
McVay's latest comment about Akers has left fans very confused.
McVay told reporters on Friday that Akers will have to maximize his chances when it comes to the game.
Ram fans disagree with that view, but Akers were not given a golden opportunity against the bills.
Akers, 23, was picked by the Rams in the second round of the 2020 draft.
After a promising rookie season, he missed most of the 2021 season due to a torn Achilles.
There is still plenty of time for Acres to turn things around and become a dominant player for the Rams.
However, last night's game wasn't an encouraging start for Florida State Product.
