According to many reports, Kyrie Irving wants to play with the Lakers. Better yet, the Lakers want him.

So what is the holdup?

Brad Turner told NBA insider Mark Stein this week that the Brooklyn Nets are refusing to trade Irving before anything happened to Kevin Durant.

In other words, a Durant trade would be the first domino to fall.

Meanwhile, the Lakers need to be patient.

"I think Kyrie is playing for the Lakers before he gets to camp," Turner said.

"The Lakers just have to be patient. From what I've read and been told, the Nets won't do anything about Kyrie until they trade Kevin Durant."

It makes sense. Durant would probably bag the biggest trade package in NBA history.

There's no reason for the Nets to trade Irving first.

That being said, it looks like Irving is mandated to trade the Lakers.

If this happens, Los Angeles will immediately become one of the top contenders in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Nets will soon undergo a major rebuilding, but they will have a promising future if they do it right.

buckle up. The NBA off season is just getting started.
