In the 100 years since its inauguration, Ohio Stadium in Columbus has been loath to take on stadium sponsors.

But there will be a new sponsor who will make an appearance at Shue in the years to come.

On Friday, Ohio State announced that it will have a new arena sponsor going forward.

Cephlite Autoglass, a Columbus-based glass repair company

Now the Big Ten will display its logo on two 25-yard lines opposite the logo.

As part of the deal, Ohio Stadium's playing surface will be renamed Safelight Field.

However, the Ohio Stadium name will remain unchanged, according to Sports Illustrated.

This is in stark contrast to what Ohio State has done with its basketball field -

"Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center."

But it looks like the state of Ohio wouldn't have struck a deal as well if Cephlite had insisted on getting more major naming rights.

Ohio Stadium first broke ground in 1921 and opened its doors in 1922.

During the century it has hosted the Ohio State Buckeyes football team,

Ohio Glory professional football team and Major League Soccer team Columbus Crew SC.

It has been renovated four times over the years, growing in capacity from 66,000 to over 102,000 -

Making it one of the largest potential locations in the whole world.

For Ohio State fans, it is a place of honor and a place no one can stamp their name on.
