Los Angeles Rams Van Jefferson width for other knee operation.

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters via CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones,

On Monday, both Jefferson will have knee surgery on Tuesday.

McVay set a schedule for "a few weeks" and was unsure whether the 26-year-old would start the season.

Per Greg Beacham from The Associated Press, McVay describes the process as "minor."

Matthew Stafford was a very important threat last season, with Jefferson averaging 9.0 yards per goal with 12 catches of 20 yards or more.

He would return to play a bigger role in the breach of the Rams passing behind offensive player of the year Cooper KUPP and free agent player Alan Robinson.

Last year's six touchdown recipients were more than any Rams player other than KUPP.

Super Bowl champions who survive will have little time to prepare for the first week.

They will begin the 2022 season with a football match against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night, September 8.

Of course it would help Jefferson prepare for a possible shootout,

But Rams will have to ensure that the 26-year-old is in good health after a chaotic offseason.
