The Las Vegas Raiders have added an experienced wide receiver to their active roster.
On Wednesday, the team signed Keelan Cole after placing rookie DJ Turner on injured reserve.
He also signed center Billy Price and cornerback Nickel Robbie-Coleman to the practice squad.
Cole played four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before spending the 2021 campaign with the New York Jets.
He has amassed a total of 2,691 yards and 13 touchdowns in 79 career games.
In his first year outside Kentucky Wesleyan, Cole collected a career-high 748 receiving yards and 475 of three touchdowns in his final five games.
Yet he did not carry that momentum into his second season,
During this he scored 38 out of 70 goals for 491 yards and one point.
Despite starting 11 of the 15 games played last season,
Cole played 58 percent of the Jets' offensive snap when activated. He scored his lone touchdown in Week 18.
The Raiders made a terrific take on wide receiver when they brought down Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers this off-season.
He paid immediate dividends when he took 10 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown in a Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
However, Hunter Renfro and Mack Hollins were the only other raiders to see any targets. He combined for just 37 yards.
Thus Las Vegas could stand behind Adams, Renfro, to benefit from some affordable depth.
and tight end Darren Waller. Looking at Cole's former landing spot,
Derek Carr also represents quite a quarterback upgrade.
When the Raiders play the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday at 4:25 p.m., Cole will try to make an immediate impact. ET.
