As the New England Patriots continue to make cuts ahead of Tuesday's roster deadline, the team said goodbye to the former third-round pick on Sunday.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, "The Patriots have forgiven TE Dalton Keene."

The NFL world reacted to Keane's release on social media.

"Belichick drafted two third-round TEs, Dalton Keene and Devin Assiasi in 2020," tweeted Biles radio host Joe DiBiase.

"He has taken 5 catches for 55 yards."

"He was traded in the third round in 2020 to be drafted," said PFF's Brad Spielberger.

"It seems the injuries derailed Keane's career to a great extent," said another.

"Never had a chance to see what he could do at a pro level."

"Keane was considered a reach when the Patriots drafted him in the third round in 2020.

He played just six games and struggled to stay healthy," replied Mark Daniels.

"Tough run in New England for Keane," Pats beat writer Chris Mason.

"The player in the third round got injured playing 6 games.

Landed on IR in back-to-back seasons with knee injuries and missed it again this summer."

Hopefully Keane is able to land somewhere on his feet.
