Bill Russell, one of the greatest athletes of all time, died on Sunday morning at the age of 88.

Famous Boston Celtics Star,

who won 11 NBA championships and five MVP leagues during his playing career,

Died peacefully with his wife by his side.

While Russell has one of the greatest careers in NBA history,

This was far from the exact thing when he was in high school.

In fact, only one school - San Francisco - offered Russell when he was out of high school.

It's insane to think that one of the greatest basketball players of all time only got a huge scholarship offer when he was admitted.

Russell continued to lead the USF to the championship in 1955 and '56.

He is the perfect pick number 2 in the NBA 1956 draft.
