In terms of securing the proverbial bag, few, if any, have done it better.

In the backup quarterback position than Chase Daniels.

In 13 professional seasons, Daniels appeared in only 70 games and made only five starts.

He has attempted only 261 passes and thrown eight touchdowns, but has amassed more than $40 million in contracts.

This fall, Daniels went on to his 14th professional campaign and finished second with the Los Angeles Chargers.

He will once again support Justin Herbert.

When the Chargers shouted out Daniels on their Twitter account on Saturday night,

Fans couldn't help but comment on his unique career and bank account.

Daniels started last night's pre-season opener and bowled a pair of first-half touchdowns for the Crosstown Rams in their 29-22 loss to the Chargers.

The 35-year-old signal caller played only one regular season game for Los Angeles in 2021,

And Chargers fans will want to keep it that way this year. If Herbert were to lose time, the team's fortunes would suffer a significant blow.

However in the meantime, Daniels will be ready, if necessary, and will continue to cash his checks.
