According to a report in ESPN's Field Yates, the New England Patriots are signing offensive tackle Marcus Cannon to their practice squad.

The cannon was brought in for a visit this Thursday. Obviously the tour went well.

This would mark Cannon's second stint with the Patriots.

Cannon, 34, was traded to the Houston Texans in March 2021.

He started last season in just four matches.

The Texans then released the cannon on March 15, 2022.

The days of Cannon's all-pro offensive tackle are in the past. however,

He gives the Patriots a familiar face they can count on if their offensive line deals with any injuries this season.

A fifth-round former pick out from TCU, Cannon will have to work his way up the depth charts in New England.

Trent Brown and Isaiah Wynn are currently listed as the opening offensive tackles for the Patriots.

Yodny Cajuste and Justin Herron, meanwhile, are the primary backups.
