It didn't take long for the Phoenix Suns to match the Indiana Pacers' offer sheet for Deandre Ayton.

The Pacers offered Ayton earlier in the day on Thursday and just hours later,

Surya made the easy decision to match it. Ayton will now receive $133 million over the next four years with Sun.

Ayton also cannot be traded for a full year without his permission.

Ayton was a player the Sons couldn't let go of. In 58 matches last season,

He averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds per game, shooting 63% off the floor.

Such a player does not grow on a tree.

NBA fans were not surprised by the Sun's decision.

One fan tweeted, "This made the most sense for Phoenix. Will have to put the core together for one more run."

"Had to," tweeted a media member

After losing to the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Suns will now focus on making it back next year.
