NASCAR World Reacts To Ross Chastain Controversy Sunday

The Federated Auto Parts 400 is rolling out in Richmond as we speak and it's been a mixed day for #1 Ross Chastain.

Chastain ran into a bit of trouble later in the race, after finishing in first place on Stage 1.

He made contact with Kyle Busch, causing both cars to exit and take precautions.

As you can imagine, rival Denny Hamlin didn't appreciate Chastain's reckless driving.

Hamlin's crew didn't like it either - and they made sure the world knew.

While caution was being exercised, Hamlin's crew chief Chris Gebehardt could be heard saying,

But NASCAR fans are mixed on whether Chastain is really to blame.

Some looked at the footage and concluded that Bush moved his car to Chastain to trigger the spinout:

It's been a great year for Ross Chastain.

He has two wins and sits third in the standings as the NASCAR Cup playoffs approach.

But Chastain has been in a bit of a downturn lately. He has dropped out of the top 20 in his last three races.

Prior to this, he had been in the top 10 in six consecutive races.

As of writing, he is in danger of falling out of the top 10 in the Federated Auto Parts 400.
