Jordan Love's first-round talent has been buried under the shadow of back-to-back league MVP Aaron Rodgers since being selected in the 2020 draft.

But as Rodgers watches from the sidelines during the Packers' preseason schedule,

Luv is getting a chance to show his stuff.

Head coach Matt LaFleur is loving what he's seeing from the third-year QB.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, "I think he's a light year ahead of where he was a year ago."

In last night's preseason victory over the New Orleans Saints,

Love finished with a touchdown on 113 yards and 12/24 passing.

Even his imperfections showed the brilliance of the hand which got him selected as the 26th overall pick in 2020.

While Luv has been looking solid in the preseason so far, he still has some consistency issues to keep him working out.

In the Packers' presidency opener against the San Francisco 49ers,

He had three interceptions to go with two touchdowns and 176 passing yards

Despite those three constraints,

Lafleur said he was also "delighted" by that preseason performance.

Love will open the 2022 season behind Rodgers as a solid backup.
