CJ Stroud played big in the second half for the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night.

The quarterback for the second year enabled the Buckeyes to lead the Buckeyes to a comeback victory against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as he scored a touchdown each quarter.

Stroud ended the contest with 223 yards and two touchdowns.

And even garnered some praise from Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman.

"He hit three or four of them," Freeman said via clutchpoints.

"He's going out of bounds and I'm looking at him, and in my mind,

I am saying that there is no way that is complete. They ended up as perfection. Salute him."

"There's a reason he's a Heisman Trophy candidate and he's got a really good team."

Stroud was the Heisman Trophy runner-up last season after a hard-fought loss to Bryce Young.

He would like to bring home the award this season before the NFL Draft is announced next year.
