It was not looking great for Rory McIlroy at the Tour Championship debut this weekend.

But in an exciting final round, he was able to stun the field and capture the top prize of $26 million.

Tiger Woods shared his thoughts on the wild weekend at East Lake, giving both Rory and World No. 1 Scotty Scheffler a shout out.

"Rory McIlroy started the week with a triple bogey, and never gave up, now he's the [Tour] champion," Tiger tweeted.

"A year out for Scottie too, great way to close out the season!"

McIlroy came back from a six-shot deficit to secure the win,

But it didn't come without some help from Schaeffler.

The No. 1 seed lost his six-stroke lead in the first seven holes before going on par with Rory the rest of the way.

But Scheffler's foul at 18 allowed McIlroy to lead the way with an easy draw.

Sunday's win marks Rory's third FedEx Cup crown.
