New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims may soon join a new team.

On Thursday, his agent officially requested a trade on his behalf.

"We think a trade is our only option at this point because the Jets have repeatedly told us that they will not release him," Ron Slavin said.

"Joe Douglas Has Always Done Right By Denzel

And we believe he will do everything possible to find him a new home where he can be a contributor."

While appearing on WFAN Sports Radio this Friday,

Jets general manager Joe Douglas was asked about Mims' business request.

Douglas said the Jets have received "a few calls" about the mimes.

He did not mention either team, although the Carolina Panthers are already being tied to a former second-round pick.

SNY's Connor Hughes has reported that New York plans to approve Mims' trade request.

However, the front office wants to receive "par value" in return.

Last season, Mims took just eight catches for 133 yards.

His output during his rookie year was much better.

A change of scenery can allow him to reach his full potential.
