Michigan's quarterback position is already taking some turns and starts early this 2022 football season.

Jim Harbaugh starts veteran Cade McNamara in this Saturday's Wolverines season opener versus Colorado State.

He completed nine of his 18 pass attempts for 136 yards and one touchdown in a big 51–7 victory.

However, McNamara will not be Michigan's starting quarterback in Week 2.

That would be JJ McCarthy's job.

Interestingly, McCarthy just posted a cryptic Instagram story that's raising some eyebrows this Saturday.

"JJ McCarthy just posted this on his Instagram story," Brad Galley said.

Some are wondering if McCarthy is talking about McNamara here.

But it's worth noting what Jake Butt had to say about it.

"Anyone who follows JJ knows that these are the common themes of his story.

And there really isn't anything to read in depth.

He has focused on self development beyond the game of football and that is what this post is about for me.

Here's a message to all of us," Butt said.

McCarthy will start next week for Hawaii vs. Wolverine.
