Giancarlo Stanton could take an important step towards his return.
New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that the sluggers will do their full batting practice at Yankee Stadium on Monday.
Stanton could then begin a minor league rehab assignment later in the week.
Barring one setback, Stanton could possibly return to the Bronx Bombers sometime in August.
Fans are excited to see the 2017 NL MVP, who scored 24 home runs in 80 games this season.
However, others are often suspicious of an injured player returning without a hitch.
Stanton was initially considered day-to-day when leaving the July 23 game early.
It was expected that he would return quickly after a precautionary visit to the injured list retrospectively on 24 July.
The Yankees have gone 7-11 since Stanton last played. Although still comfortably leading the majors in-house this season,
They're slugging .422 after the All-Star break.
However, his recession hasn't cost him much. They are up 10.5 games in the AL East over the Toronto Blue Jays,
They have lost seven of their last 10 matches.
Based on this latest news, the Yankees should welcome Stanton in plenty of time to stave off any war before the playoffs.
