Former Star NFL Defensive Back's Home Set On Fire After Lightning Strike

Earl Thomas's home caught fire after reportedly being struck by lightning.

It caught fire on Thursday evening and according to TMZ, no one is likely to be inside.

Firefighters arrived at the house and began dousing the fire, as you can see here:

Thomas was present when firefighters arrived but left shortly after.

There also appears to be an Aston Martin on the property of the house, according to an official.

And that team can be there for hours fighting the fire.

Thomas had a tumultuous few months.

Earlier this season, Thomas, a seven-time pro bowler, claimed he was in football shape and ready to return to the gridiron.

"I'm ready," said Thomas. "I'm in shape. My timing is on point — I'm proud of that."

Unfortunately, just a few weeks later, a judge issued an arrest warrant for the former NFL star.

Thomas allegedly violated a court's protective order by sending a woman threatening messages about him and her children.

The good news here is that Thomas left home safely.
