For the first time in nearly a month, Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will return to the mound this weekend.

The announcement comes via manager Dave Roberts,

Who's to say the three-time Cy Young winner will get a start on Thursday vs. the Mets.

Kershaw worked to recover from a back injury that required epidural injections.

The nine-time All-Star was able to survive a minor-league rehab stint,

But last Saturday hurled 70 pitches in a mock game.

Roberts further said that Kershaw will be part of the six-man starting rotation "a couple of weeks minimum" after returning from the 15-day IL.

With Walker Buehler gone for the year, the Dodgers will not try to pursue Kershaw before postseason play.

But 70 pitches in a simulated game should mean that LA won't put too much leash on the veteran's pitch count.
