Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Bowl wideout Dionte Johnson reportedly remained "miles-miles apart" when it came to contract negotiations,

According to Gerry Dulac from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Per Dulac:

The Steelers have begun discussions with the recipient of Dionte Johnson's new contract,

But that doesn't mean they'll sign it before the start of the regular season or before the agent is released in 2023.

Steelers GM Omar Khan has a note that he expects Johnson to "remain a Steeler for a long time."

However, Dulac explained that the parties were far apart at this point, so it was not possible to execute the contract before the team's opening season.

Johnson has been in the Steelers' practice during individual training, but has yet to field during the Pittsburgh team period since training camp.

The defensive player in power this year is T.J. Watt did the same "hold-in" when he managed to push his new deal, but the position remained weak..

In the words, "We want to do Dionte.

We are delighted to have him a part of this team, and we hope he remains a steeler for a long time. ,

But while the team took the opportunity to evaluate their young children, Johnson did not participate fully in the exercise.

All that said, the Steelers seem unwilling to pay Dionte, the many other top achievers on the market.

Although they do ink kicker Chris Boswell for a profitable New Deal.
