Damien Lillard is one of the most loyal Superstars in the NBA.

And it appears he will soon be rewarded for that loyalty.

Lillard is on the verge of penning a two-year maximum extension with the Portland Trail Blazers for close to $122 million, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.

Lillard's most recent deal with the Blazers is under a four-year and $176.26 million contract.

He still has two years left on that deal and a potential $48.8 million player option in 2024-25.

Lillard has been a member of the Trail Blazers organization since being selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Since then, he has long articulated his commitment to bringing a championship to the city of Portland.

This two-year extension would take Lillard's average annual income to more than $50 million per year - making him the highest-paid player in the NBA.

Lillard played only 29 games for the Blazers this past season as he dealt with a problem with injuries.

With a new contract under his belt, the six-time All-Star will return to form in 2022-23.
