Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman is 0-3 to start his career as leader of the Fighting Irish.

Freeman took over as head coach at the end of the 2021 season for Oklahoma State's defeat in the bowl game of Notre Dame.

He made his regular season debut against Ohio State in a top-five matchup last weekend,

Fought a good fight losing 21-10.

The first two defeats against top-10 teams are understandable.

But on Saturday, Fighting Irish suffered a 26-21 loss to Marshall at home.

Freeman is the first head coach in Notre Dame history to start at 0-3.

The college football world took to Twitter to react to Freeman's ugly debut.

"What a big, big moment for Marshall and Charles Huff.

What a disaster for Notre Dame and Marcus Freeman," wrote Pat Ford.

"Not only did 0-3 start his tenure for Marcus Freeman,

But three blurry leads to those losses in the second half," said another.

Freeman and the Fighting Irish will return next Saturday with another home matchup against the Cal Golden Bears.
