Chris Fowler Names The Big Ten's Best Home Field Advantage

The Big Ten has multiple-story events and domestic crowds.

But one atmosphere at the convention stands above the rest for Chris Fowler.

This week, the longtime ESPN play-by-play man

And the College Gameday host was asked which team has the biggest home ground advantage in the Big Ten.

His answer was Penn State during their annual "White Out" game.

"It happens just once a year, but it's the best annual environment in college football," Fowler said.

"By wearing all-whites and the support they have, it's a show of unanimity.

I've been so lucky to call such a big 'white out' game.

"Yes, Columbus and East Lansing and 'Big House' (Michigan) have great fans, but to me, Penn State is No. 1 in the Big Ten in the 'White Out' environment."

The "White Out" game, in which the entire crowd at Beaver Stadium wears white clothing,

Has been an annual staple at Penn State since 2004.

All-time, the Nittany Lions are 9-8 in "white out" competitions,

That includes a win over No. 22 Auburn from last season's 28-22.

This year, "White Out" will be held when Minnesota tours Happy Valley on October 22.
