Chase Elliott closes out the NASCAR Cup Series regular season title during Sunday's race at Watkins Glen.

Needing four points to enter Go Bowling in Green, Elliott took first during the final event of the season.

The difference gives him 15 bonus points for the playoffs.

His Twitter page celebrated the feat, with fans congratulating the 26-year-old on his second regular season crown

And encourage him to keep up the momentum post-season.

Other fans jokingly wondered if he was dangerously testing his multitasking abilities.

Elliott has four wins this year,

And he's trying for a fifth win at Watkins Glen on Sunday.

The Chevrolet driver now has breathing room to enter after the season.

With 15 bonus points, Elliott must avoid an early-round elimination of at least 16 to 12 drivers.

The 2020 Cup Series champions will be looking to start their way toward a repeat when the playoffs begin at Darlington Raceway on 4 September.
