In 2018, the Cleveland Browns drafted Baker Mayfield No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft.
Four years later, he has signed one of the quarterbacks he passed in that fatal draft.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter,
The Browns are signing free agent quarterback Josh Rosen to a one-year deal.
Rosen joined the Browns for a TODAY workout after spending the entire off-season as a free agent.
The Arizona Cardinals drafted Rosen after being traded to No. 10 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.
But they walked away from him after only one season,
And he's been a traveler ever since.
Rosen has played for four teams in the last three years,
11 regular season passes were recently thrown for the Atlanta Falcons.
He hasn't started a game since 2019 and hasn't played at all in 2020.
Luckily for Josh Rosen, he's moving into a position where he could get an early chance if he does well in training camp.
The Cleveland Browns are preparing star quarterback Deshan Watson for a lengthy suspension.
This suspension would leave Jacobi Brissette as the presumptive starter going into the 2022 season.
If Rosen can outperform Brissette in training camp and preseason,
Maybe it will be his name at the top of the depth chart in any game that Watson can't play.
Will Josh Rosen start a game for the Browns this year?
