It appears that not everyone was biting to see their school open the college football season.

According to the LA Times' Ben Bolch, UCLA's Week 1 game versus Bowling Green drew a record-less crowd to the Rose Bowl;

With just 27,143 in attendance.

Fans reacted to the disappointing turnout on social media.

"CBS paid a trillion dollars to show this Big Ten school," replied one user.

"Imagine how much better it would be if they were playing Purdue now?"

"If there were 27,143 people in the Rose Bowl today, I currently have 27,144 in my apartment," said another.

"You'll all have a better presence at the flea market."

Although the matchup may not be as exciting,

It doesn't help that Los Angeles is in the midst of a crazy heatwave right now.
