Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers had a pretty brutal start in the first year of their partnership.

1 overall pick threw two interceptions in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals,

Taking the team's record on the season to 1-3

That being said, Mayfield is confident that he can turn things around with his new team.

According to Darin Gantt of the team website, Mayfield said, "I've been here before."

"I'm quite comfortable in this position. I have the experience to bounce back and handle things the right way and be able to lead. For me, we'll be fine."

Mayfield said it was time for the Panthers' attack to step up and match the level that the defensive unit has reached at the start of the season.

"Yeah, it's like I said after the game. No one is happy where we are, plain and simple," he said.

"But you can either harp on it or look at the tape, fix it and get better at it.

We have to be better overall. This is consistent with watching the tapes. We have to do our job in a better way, at a higher level.

"It's time to play really well for our offense, instead of relying only on our defense and special teams to save us and take us out.

Handling the next punch is adversity for me. Things are going to happen.

There are some things in sports that you can't control, but some things that hurt us, we can control.

That's how we need to process this information."

The Panthers will look to return in Week 5 with a home matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
