The first weekend of the 2022 college football season is packed with exciting Week 1 matchups.
With multiple events starting their first in-game action of the year,
There are bound to be some ups and downs as the teams make their way into the early stages of the season.
On Wednesday, Athlon Sports named five college football teams that are on "troublesome clock" this coming weekend.
Here are some potential upsets of the site:
No. 11 Oregon Over No. 3 Georgia
“This [Georgia] team will be much better on October 1st than on September 3. It opens the door for a very experienced,
11 Oregon team will come to Atlanta and shock the Bulldogs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Remember that early last season the Ducks upset Ohio State in horseshoes.
Auburn transfer and new Oregon quarterback Bo Knicks has three years of SEC football and won't be intimidated by an opponent or the environment."
No. 5 Notre Dame Over No. 2 Ohio State
"There is full pressure on Ohio State. Despite Notre Dame's ranking, a home loss to the 17-point underdog won't look good nationally and won't look good internally.
Pressure, hype and hosting a mature, motivated-yet-loose team is a recipe for disaster."
No. 13 NC State Unranked ECU
"The 13th-ranked Wolfpack travels to East Carolina to open his season.
There have been whispers around the 'Twittersphere' that NC State may be a bit much. Vegas can agree, as the spread is only 11.5 -
The game of an unreserved group of slightly fewer 5 opponents for the top-15 team. East Carolina made 14 starts last season with a team that won seven games.
The Pirates also have the ability to shorten the game with a very good pace attack."
Take a look at the rest of Athlon Sports' "troubled watch" teams.
