Sean Payton will now have interviews with the Carolina Panthers on Fridays.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Panthers front office flew to Charlotte in the wake of the passing of Charlotte FC soccer player Anton Woakes. Interviews have now been put on hold as owner David Tepper tries to support the other players.
Vaux died on Thursday at the age of 25 due to a boating accident. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and was in critical condition after one boat collided with another.
The NFL community is pleased that Tepper and the rest of the front office decided to step back to help support.
Another tweet read, “That’s absolutely the right move by Tepper. He’s gained a huge amount of my respect.”
“This is the right step,” read another tweet.
Our thoughts are with the Vaux family and the entire Charlotte community. May he rest in peace.
