Will Patrick Mahomes Play In The AFC Championship Next Weekend?
Mahomes sprained his ankle during the Chiefs’ 27-20 victory over the Jaguars on Saturday night.
Andy Reid talked about Mahomes’ injury after the game and luckily, he isn’t too worried about his $500 million quarterback.
Per Reid, Mahomes “tweaked” his ankle. He also revealed that it is an injury that the 27-year-old quarterback has battled in the past.
“Andy Reid says Patrick Mahomes ‘tweaked’ his ankle and ‘it’s going to get worse’. We’ll see where he is, he’s done this before,” Reid said via James Palmer .
Big news from the Chief Head Coach. Unless there’s a setback this week during practice, Mahomes should be good to go next weekend.
After all, a trip to the Super Bowl is on the line.
“Here’s all the injury updates Dr. Seuss style,” one fan joked about the way Reid announced the Mahomes news.
One Twitter user wrote, “This was important. He’s a walking miracle, but they ain’t beating Buffalo or Cincy lame.”
One fan said, “If my dr diagnosed me with a ‘tweak’ I would fire him and find a competent doctor. No. I don’t believe Annie Reid lol.”
Andy Reid doesn’t care. That, along with the fact that Mahomes returned during Saturday night’s game, should inspire some confidence in his position for next week.
The Chiefs play the winner of the Bengals-Bills.
