New information shared by ESPN’s Ryan Clark reveals just how far along Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are on their new deal.
According to Clarke, a source with knowledge of the negotiations between the two sides says that the former MVP was initially offered $113 million in guaranteed money that eventually increased to $133 million.
The analyst said, “That was the most Lamar had to offer.”
Jackson was reportedly pushing for a deal in the Deshaun Watson range after the controversial QB’s massive five-year, $230 million deal was fully guaranteed.
Lamar is 45-16 as a Ravens starter and is just as accomplished as Watson, if not more so, but Watson’s contract is one that many NFL owners are not happy with.
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta says he genuinely believes Lamar wants to end his career in Baltimore. But if Jackson and the team have very different ideas about what he’s worth, it’s hard to see that happen.
