A clear favorite is emerging to unseat former Saints head coach Payton and he has reportedly scheduled a second interview with the former Super Bowl winner this week.
According to Jeff Duncan Of NOLA.com, “All signs point to the Denver Broncos as the leader in the Shawn Payton sweepstakes.”
Fans reacted to the interesting report on Monday.
A Panthers fan replied, “Let me find out that Payton and the Saints are taking advantage of Tepper to get a better offer from Denver. It’s almost like some people saw this coming.”
ESPN’s David Newton tweeted, “The Panthers better wow Peyton today as the Broncos certainly feel the favorite with a second interview. Unless, that is, the Cowboys make a late entry.”
“Payton reportedly meets with the Panthers today and has a second interview scheduled with Denver later in the week,” Mike Kaye shared.
Darren McKee commented, “If he’s coming back for another interview it’s a done deal. It’ll be interesting how things go with Carolina today.”
If it goes down, huge accomplishment for Broncos Country.
